Good evening on a cold Atlanta night. Well I promised new projects and included in some of the pics are some new ones. First we have a gorgeous wood chair I picked up at an antique store. It's sort of beat up, so out comes the sand paper, and paint and paint brush. A rich Mahogany will set it straight. I have already started.
Next we have a work in progress. My little schweetie Hazel. She is my Shih Tzu rescue. Isn't she a doll?Too bad her personality doesn't match. She thinks she's a Rottweiller. She surely tries to run the show around here.
Next we have a cute little picture of the word Homespun. I amped it up a bit by adding a key and buttons. I also purchased a picture with the word Family on it. I added some burlap a few buttons and keys, and now it will be a shabby chic Family sign.
This really takes no time at all just some thought and the products to make it happen. Going to thrift shops does the trick. Items for 30 cents can really go a long way in crafting, instead of going to a craft store and paying $3.00. Buttons are so hot right now, but if you hit the right spots, it can be a fabulous way to change a picture, lamp or candles. Just use your imagination.
I was out in the antique shops, and it's amazing how many styles of shabby chic are out there. Country is so hot right now and the Prairie look also. Great ideas out there. I just love going. I even dragged my husband to a few shops, but he thought there was to much to look at.
I hope everyone who reads this is having a good day, and stop by to see more exciting things from Beulah Lake Cottage. Peace. Cindy
